Citizen killed in Israeli drone strike in Lebanon

BEIRUT, April 22 (YPA) – The Lebanese Civil Defense announced today that a citizen was killed following an Israeli drone strike targeting a vehicle in Baawerta, near Damour in Mount Lebanon, south of Beirut.

In a statement, the Media and Public Relations Department of the Directorate General of Civil Defense explained that, “Fire and rescue teams from the Civil Defense intervened at 9:10 a.m. to extinguish a fire that broke out in a vehicle after it was targeted by an Israeli drone. The fire then spread to nearby vegetation along the Baawerta road.”

The statement added that Civil Defense personnel “managed to bring the fire under control and recovered the body of a martyr who was inside the vehicle.”
