Footage shows Yemeni air defences downing US MQ-9 drone

SANAA, April 18 (YPA) -The Yemeni military media released footage documenting the moment the Yemeni Armed Forces shot down an American MQ-9 drone, along with images of its wreckage.

The US drone was downed by Yemeni air defenses,  using a locally manufactured surface-to-air missile while it was conducting hostile operations over Sana’a province on Friday.

Earlier in the day, Brigadier General Yahya Sare’e announced that the Yemen’s Air Defense Force successfully downed a US MQ-9 unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV).

This is the fifth such incident within three weeks and the twenty-first during the Battle of the Promised Victory and the Holy Jihad in support of Gaza.
