GAZA, April 15 (YPA) – The Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) affirmed that the movement’s leadership is studying, with great national responsibility, the proposal it received from the mediators and will submit its response as soon as possible, once the necessary consultations are completed.
In a statement, the movement reiterated its firm position that any future agreement must achieve a permanent ceasefire, a complete withdrawal of the occupation forces from the Gaza Strip, a genuine prisoner exchange deal, the beginning of a serious process to rebuild what the occupation has destroyed, and the lifting of the unjust siege on our people in the Gaza Strip.
Meanwhile, Sami Abu Zuhri, head of Hamas’ Political Bureau abroad, stated in a live interview with Al Jazeera that the movement is ” open to all offers that alleviate the suffering of our people.
However, he accused Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of setting impossible conditions to sabotage any ceasefire agreement, saying “what Netanyahu is demanding is a surrender agreement.”
In its latest proposal, the occupation does not commit to a full cessation of war—it only wants to receive the captives, Abu Zuhri emphasized.
