Hundreds of thousands rally in Yemen to support Palestinians in Gaza

SANAA, April 11 (YPA) – Hundreds of thousands of Yemeni people, holding up rifles, joined angry demonstrations in Sanaa and other provinces on Friday to support the Palestinians and to reject the American-Zionist aggression on the Gaza Strip.

Protesters filled Al-Sabeen Square in the center of the capital, in a scene that reflected the unity of the popular and official stance toward the ongoing genocidal war to which the Palestinian people have been subjected for more than a year and six months.

They considered that the US aggression targeting Yemen a failed attempt to prevent the Yemeni people from performing their duty in supporting Gaza.

“We will not let Gaza down, and we will not leave its people alone,” the participants chanted. “We tell them again: You are not alone.”

The Protesters called for a general mobilization, encompassing all official and popular levels, to marshal energies to defend Yemen and support the steadfastness of the Palestinian people in Gaza.

This million-man march came days after an escalation in US and British airstrikes on Yemeni areas, in what Washington said was a response to Ansarullah operations in the Red Sea. However, Yemenis clearly linked these attacks to Yemen’s pro-Gaza stance.
