Venezuela condemns US-UK aggression on Yemen

WORLD, March 19 (YPA) -Venezuela has strongly condemned the United States and the United Kingdom’s military intervention in Yemen, calling it a violation of the country’s sovereignty that exacerbates an already dire humanitarian crisis.

In a statement issued Monday night, Venezuela asserted that these attacks only bring further destruction and suffering to the Yemeni people, without offering real solutions to the region’s challenges.

The statement also linked the aggression to a broader pattern of systematic massacres against Arab nations, starting with Palestine, extending through Syria and Lebanon, and now reaching Yemen.

Venezuela further attributed the current instability in West Asia to the occupation and genocide against the Palestinian people. It stated that nearly 80 years of aggression, exclusion, and violence against Palestine have fueled a prolonged conflict with far-reaching consequences for the entire region.

The statement called for an immediate halt to the attacks on Yemen and urged the international community to intervene to stop the military escalation.

It emphasized that the only path to peace in the region is a return to international legitimacy, the enforcement of UN Security Council resolutions on Palestine, and an end to all hostilities against the region’s peoples.

Venezuela also called on Arab and Islamic governments and populations to take action in defense of the rights and lives of those suffering from the aggression.

The statement concluded by reaffirming Venezuela’s commitment to Bolivarian peace diplomacy, emphasizing its unwavering support for the sovereignty of nations and a peace based on absolute respect for the UN Charter and international agreements.
