Protest organized by workers of Arabian Cement Company in Hadramout

HADRAMOUT, March 19 (YPA) – Workers at the Arabian Cement Company in the Al-Ayoun area of Ghayl Bawazir district on the Hadramout coast staged their third protest to demand improved living conditions and higher wages, which are considered low compared to the company’s growing profits.

This protest comes amid a stark disparity in salaries, with the CEO and foreign employees receiving amounts equivalent to what approximately 580 Yemeni workers receive, according to local sources.

Reports indicated that the protests follow the resignation of approximately 60 key workers from the company, citing a lack of improvement in their financial situation despite their pivotal role in establishing and operating the factory.

Yemeni workers employed by the company and other oil companies face difficult living conditions due to low wages and non-payment of their dues.
