Foreign Ministry Condemns US airstrikes on Yemen
SANAA, March 16 (YPA) –The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates condemned in the strongest terms the American aggression launched Saturday against civilian sites in the capital, Sana’a, and other provinces, particularly residential neighborhoods, which resulted in the martyrdom and injury of dozens of civilians.
In a statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs described this aggression as a blatant violation of Yemen’s sovereignty, stability, and territorial integrity, as well as the United Nations Charter and international law.
The ministry affirmed that the aim of the American aggression is to deter Yemen from its stance in support of the Palestinian people and to protect the occupying Zionist entity, enabling it to continue the genocidal crimes it has been committing against the Palestinian people for over 15 months with American support.
The statement pointed out that this aggression comes amid the return of calm to the Red Sea and the resumption of the maritime ban being limited to Zionist ships. It emphasized that Yemen will defend itself with all its might.
The ministry stressed that the American aggression will only increase Yemen’s determination and resolve to continue providing support and solidarity to the Palestinian people until the aggression and siege imposed on Gaza come to an end.
It clarified that the aggression on Yemen is an extension of the ongoing aggression against it since March 26, 2015, which was declared by Washington and has caused the worst humanitarian crisis in the world.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs called on the international community, particularly the United Nations Security Council and the free people of the world, to condemn the blatant American aggression on Yemen, which threatens security and stability in the region and the world.
