WFP warns Gaza food supplies will last less than two weeks amid Israeli blockade

GAZA, March 06 (YPA) – The World Food Program (WFP) warned on Wednesday that it has enough food supplies in the Gaza Strip to keep public kitchens and bakeries open for less than two weeks, after “Israel” imposed a blockade preventing the entry of food, fuel, medicine, and other essential supplies.

“We do not have a large stock of food in Gaza, and our current stocks are only sufficient to operate bakeries and kitchens in the Gaza Strip for less than two weeks,” WFP said in a statement.

It added that the fuel needed to run bakeries and transport food in Gaza will last only a few weeks.

Meanwhile, the death toll from the Israeli aggression has risen to 48,440 martyrs and 111,845 injuries since 7 October 2023, Gaza’s Ministry of Health said in its daily report.

35 martyrs (30 martyrs recovered, 1 martyr succumbed to his wounds, 4 new martyrs) and 10 injuries arrived at Gaza Strip hospitals during the past 24 hours, according to the report.

“Many victims are still trapped under the rubble and on the roads as rescuers are unable to reach them,” it added.
