Israeli investigation reveals “historic failure” on October 7, 2023
OCCUPIED PALESTINE, Feb. 28 (YPA) – An investigation by the Israeli occupation forces, published on Thursday evening, revealed a “historic and unprecedented” failure” of the Zionist system on October 7, 2023.
The occupation forces officially admitted their failure on Saturday, October 7, in defending the settlers of the Gaza Envelope.
The investigations pointed to a complete lack of preparedness across all formations, including the collapse of intelligence from both Aman and the Shin Bet, highlighting that the Israeli military’s Gaza Division “was defeated within the first two hours of the operation.”
The investigations described “Israel” as “blind” on multiple levels—political, military, and intelligence—having failed to anticipate the attack and suffering from a persistent gap in understanding reality.
The investigation showed that the Hamas attack on the Gaza Division’s headquarters and its collapse led to difficulties in forming an accurate picture of the battlefield situation, which affected the decisions of the officers and the General Staff of the enemy’s forces.
It confirmed that all the “achievements” made during the war on the Gaza Strip over the past year and a half could not hide the failure of October 7. It added, “Before October 7, we were convinced that Hamas could be tamed, but it turned out that this conviction was a huge mistake.”
The investigation estimated that more than 5,600 Hamas fighters entered the Gaza Envelope territory in three phases.
In addition, the ” Zman Yisrael ” website pointed out that Hamas executed one of the most sophisticated deception operations ever on October 7, which would be studied in-depth by intelligence agencies worldwide.
It added, “Israel believed one thing about Gaza, while Gaza was preparing something completely different.”
