Pilot killed, another injured at US air base shooting

WASHINGTON, Feb. 24 (YPA) – A pilot was killed and another wounded on Saturday after a deadly shooting at Kirtland Air Force Base near Truman Pass that led to a pursuit off base.

The US’s Kirtland Air Force Base said in a statement on its website one of the pilots was shot in the wrist as a result of the incident, and was initially taken to the hospital.

The air base’s statement said local authorities were investigating the incident in cooperation with the FBI. No information has yet been provided on the arrest of suspects.

The Air Force spokesman declined to say whether the shooter was also an Air Force member.
