Al-Qassam Brigades hand over body of Shiri Bibas to ICRC

GAZA, Feb. 22 (YPA) – Al-Qassam Brigades, the armed wing of Hamas, handed over the body of Shiri Bibas, an Israeli captive, to the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) on Friday, according to Al Jazeera Channel, citing a senior Hamas official.

This came after the Israeli occupation authority (IOA) claimed that the body Hamas returned on Thursday was not hers.

On Thursday, al-Qassam Brigades transferred the remains of four Israeli captives — presumably Shiri Bibas, her two sons, Ariel and Kfir, as well as the body of Oded Lifshitz — back to “Israel” (1948 occupied Palestine) through the ICRC.

However, later on Thursday, after conducting a forensic analysis on the four bodies, the IOA announced that the body initially believed to be Shiri Bibas did not match her DNA.

The Hamas Movement, for its part, has called for the return of the Palestinian body that Israel claims belongs to a woman killed in its attacks.
