OCCUPIED PALESTINE, Feb. 04 (YPA) – Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu decided on Tuesday to send a negotiating delegation to the Egyptian capital, Cairo, to discuss the details of the second phase of a prisoner exchange deal with the Palestinian resistance in the Gaza Strip.
Netanyahu’s office stated in a release: “We have decided to send the negotiating delegation to Cairo by the end of the week and to hold a Cabinet session to discuss the details of the second phase of the deal.”
Yesterday, Qatar expressed hope that US President Donald Trump would pressure Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to fulfill his commitments and send his negotiating team to Doha immediately upon his return from Washington.
According to the Qatari Foreign Ministry, negotiations for the second phase of the ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip were supposed to begin on Monday as per the agreement.
