Gaza’s Civil Defense: 162 bodies recovered since the ceasefire

GAZA, Jan. 23 (YPA) – The Palestinian Civil Defense in the Gaza Strip reported that its teams have retrieved 162 bodies of Palestinians from under the rubble of homes and buildings targeted by the Israeli occupation across various areas of the Strip since the ceasefire last Sunday.

In a daily report, the Civil Defense stated that on Wednesday, its teams retrieved the bodies of nine martyrs: two in Gaza and the North governorates, and seven in the southern governorates.

The statement continued, “Thousands of victims are still under the rubble and on the roads, and the ambulance and civil defense crews are still unable to reach them.”

The Gaza Government Media Office also stated that “14,222 people remain missing during the genocidal war launched by the occupation on the Gaza Strip.”
