“Haredi” Jews protest in refusal to serve in Israeli occupation army
OCCUPIED QUDS, Dec. 24 (YPA) – “Haredi” Jews closed on Tuesday evening a main street in the city of Bnei Brak, adjacent to Tel Aviv in the central Israeli entity, in protest against army conscription orders directed at them.
The private Hebrew newspaper “Yedioth Ahronoth” reported that dozens of Haredi demonstrators closed Jabotinsky Street, which connects Bnei Brak to the cities of Ramat Gan and Petah Tikva.
The demonstrators were able to close this street after they issued a misleading announcement earlier stating their intention to close Route 4, which prompted the police forces to initially go to the wrong location.
The protestors, who spread out on the street obstructing traffic, chanted slogans rejecting conscription into the army, including: “We die and do not enlist” and “Conscription orders are orders to destroy.”
