Meteorological Center reveals low temperatures in Yemen

SANAA, Dec. 24 (YPA) – The Sanaa-based National Center for Meteorology expected on Tuesday cold weather across Yemen.

In its weather bulletin, the center stated that the weather would be relatively cold in the highlands of Mahweet, Hajjah, Rayma, Taiz, Ibb, Dhalea, Lahj, Abyan, Mahra, Hadramout and Shabwa, in addition to the provinces of Bayda, Dhamar, Sanaa, Amran and Saada.

It revealed that the lowest temperatures recorded in some weather monitoring stations were as follows: Dhamar: 2.6, Amran: 3.6, Sanaa: 4, Bayda: 4.2, Ibb: 8.2, Seiyun: 9.2, Maheet: 9.8 degrees Celsius.

The bulletin pointed out that the coastal areas would be clear to partly cloudy, with moderate to active winds in the western Gulf of Aden, the western coast, the entrance to Bab al-Mandab and the Socotra Archipelago, with speeds ranging between 18-25 knots.

It renewed its calls for citizens, especially the elderly, children, patients, and workers during the late night and early morning hours, to take the necessary measures to protect themselves from the cold weather.
