CIA director to visit Qatar to discuss ceasefire agreement between Hamas, Israel

WORLD, Dec. 18 (YPA) – Director of the US Central Intelligence Agency, Bill Burns, will arrive in Doha on Wednesday for a meeting with Qatari Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, well-informed sources reported.

This meeting is part of intensive efforts to discuss cease-fire and prisoner exchange talks between Hamas and the Zionist entity, amid international accusations against the US of complicity in Israeli crimes against Palestinians.

Meanwhile, Brett McGurk, US President Joe Biden’s advisor, has also arrived in Doha and is participating in talks with Qatari officials, in addition to other diplomatic efforts involving Egypt and Israel.

These meetings aim to strengthen diplomatic efforts that could lead to calming tensions in the region and creating the necessary conditions for peace.

Burns’ visit comes at a sensitive time, as Israeli crimes against Palestinians in Gaza continue to escalate.

The discussions are expected to focus on enhancing cooperation between the US and Qatar to achieve regional stability and explore ways to support humanitarian efforts in the Gaza Strip.
