DAMASCUS, Dec.11 (YPA) – Violent clashes erupted on Tuesday, between the US-backed Kurdish Syrian forces (SDF) and Syria’s Turkey-backed rebels in Aleppo and the rural areas of Manbij in northern Syria, resulting in dozens of casualties on both sides.
The SDF stated that the clashes broke out during an attempted infiltration by the Turkish-backed factions towards the Tishreen Dam in the countryside of Manbij, leaving dozens of dead in addition to the destruction of several of their vehicles, according to an SDF statement.
According to the SDF, similar clashes took place near the Qaraqozak Bridge in the Manbij countryside, coinciding with over 15 drone airstrikes by the Turkish military targeting the area.
Additionally, the Turkish occupation forces and their affiliated terrorist factions shelled several areas in the western countryside of the city, with no further information provided.
Recent reports from Manbij indicated that the clashes between the two sides have expanded towards the Qaraqozak Bridge, where fierce battles are ongoing using various types of light and medium weapons.
In another development, Hayat Tahrir al-Sham announced the complete capture of the Najm Castle and its liberation from the SDF east of Aleppo.
