Meteorology warns of dust wave sweeping desert areas

SANAA, Nov. 28 (YPA) – The National Center for Meteorology warned on Thursday of a dust wave sweeping several desert areas of Yemen.

The National Center for Meteorology and Early Warning in Sana’a issued important warnings today, Thursday, to residents of desert areas regarding dust and sand raised due to strong winds.

in its weather forecast, the center stressed on citizens, especially children, the elderly and those with chest diseases, to take the necessary precautions to avoid the effects of dust and sand raised in desert areas due to active winds.

The forecast pointed out that the weather would be relatively cold in the highlands of the provinces of Hajjah, Mahweet, Ibb, Dhalea, Lahj, Abyan, Jawf, Shabwa and Hadramout, with forming rain clouds in parts of Taiz, Ibb, Rayma, Dhamar, Mahweet, Hajjah, Saada and the highlands of Hodeida.

It called on motorists to drive carefully due to the decrease in horizontal visibility as a result of heavy dust wave.

The forecast added that the winds may be moderate, reaching a maximum speed of 18 knots in the south of the Red Sea, the entrance to Bab al-Mandab, and the Socotra Archipelago.
