Al-Qaeda sniper in Abyan targets STC members

ABYAN, Nov. 19 (YPA) – A recruit of UAE-funded Southern Transitional Council (STC) factions was killed and another injured on Tuesday in Mudiyah district of Abyan province, southern Yemen.

Local sources said that a sniper operation that gunmen carried out believed to belong to the terrorist “Al-Qaeda” elements at the Al-Kassara site in Al-Baqira area of the district.

Nearly 700 people have been killed and wounded, including leaders of the STC factions, since the announcement of Operation “Arrows of the East” in mid-August 2022, to control the Islah Party camps in Abyan after imposing its control over the city of Ataq, the provcainal capital of Shabwa, during the same period.
