Aden court employees protest over unpaid dues

ADEN, Nov. 12 (YPA) – The Administrative Staff Syndicate in the courts of Aden, which is under the control of the Saudi-led coalition, organized a protest on Tuesday demanding the payment of employees’ financial dues.

The protesters raised banners calling on the pro-coalition government to pay their full salaries without any deductions, while chanting slogans condemning the injustices they have been subjected to.

In a statement, the syndicate expressed its strong discontent with the “illegal and arbitrary” decisions made by the President of Aden Court of Appeal to deduct amounts from employees’ salaries without justification.

The president had considered the employees’ strike days as absences, despite these being protected by law and the Yemeni constitution.

The statement confirmed the continuation of the partial strike, which began in July, demanding employees’ rights, including annual settlements, employee grades, health insurance, and other demands to ensure they receive their full entitlements.

The syndicate emphasized the importance of continuing the strike until their full rights are achieved and affirmed that employees will not succumb to threats, no matter the circumstances.

The syndicate also warned in its statement against any manipulation or delay in addressing the employees’ rights, stating that all options are open to escalate the protests and strike if their demands are not met.
