SHABWA, Nov. 04 (YPA) – Laqmush Al-Himyari tribe announced, on Monday, holding an emergency meeting next Thursday in the Al-Aram area in the Habban district of Shabwa governorate.
The meeting is a clear escalation in the confrontation with the Southern Transitional Council, after the expiry of a deadline granted to the UAE-affiliated governor of Shabwa, Awad bin Al-Wazir, and to the head of the Transitional Council branch in the governorate, Lahmar Ali Lasud, based on the outcomes of the meeting held at the end of last August.
Laqmush tribes are heading towards armed escalation by blocking the road in Shabwa in the coming days after giving the Transitional Council a number of opportunities to release her sons since the last meeting in Al-Aram, which witnessed wide participation of Shabwa tribes.
The escalation comes after a series of guarantees and promises made by Awad Al-Wazir and Lasud to release the sons of Sheikh Saeed Muqdah Al-Qamishi from the Transitional Council prisons in Aden since 2016.
The guarantees and promises did not record any tangible progress, except for procrastination, delay, manipulation of citizens’ issues, and violation of their rights.
