Pro-STC gunmen shoot at car carrying picture of former president “Afash” in Hadramout

HADRAMOUT, Oct. 12 (YPA) – Gunmen loyal to the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC) opened fire on a car carrying a picture of former president Ali Abdullah Saleh “Afash” in the center of the city of Mukalla, the capital of Hadramout province, eastern Yemen.

Local sources confirmed that the gunmen damaged one of the tires of citizen Hisham Al-Sumhi’s car. He had been holding a picture of Saleh and the Yemeni flag on the back of the car for the past few months.

The sources explained that the shooting of the car came after a campaign of incitement by the STC followers in Mukalla, who boasted during the past hours of putting an end to the image of Saleh and the Yemeni flag.

The sources accused the head of the STC branch in Hadramout, Saeed Al-Muhammadi, of being behind the car attack.

The fate of the car’s owner is unknown until now.
