Sanaa FM condemns killing of Yemeni family in Israeli air strikes

SANAA, Oct. 09 (YPA) – The Sanaa-based Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemned the ongoing Zionist aggression against the Syrian Arab Republic, the latest of which was the air strikes that targeted a residential building housing Yemenis in the Syrian capital Damascus.

Spokesman for the ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Wahid Al-Shami, said in a statement that the Zionist aggression on Syria’s the Mazzeh neighborhood led to the martyrdom of Yemeni citizen Dr. Shawqi Al-Awdi, his wife, and his three daughters, in addition, a number of Syrian civilians.

The statement considered the Zionist aggression on Damascus a blatant violation of Syria’s sovereignty, independence, territorial integrity, international and humanitarian law, especially the Fourth Geneva Convention on the Protection of Civilian Persons of 1949.

“This cowardly act is an extension of the genocide crimes that the usurping Zionist entity’s committing in Palestine, Lebanon and a number of countries in the region,” it added.

The spokesman’s statement called on the international community, especially the Security Council, to play its role in condemning this blatant aggression and taking serious action to force the Zionist entity to stop its aggression against the countries and peoples of the region, destabilizing security and stability, and threatening international peace and security.
