At least 45 migrants die after migrant boats sink off Djibouti coasts

ADEN, Oct. 02 (YPA) – At least 45 migrants died and 32 others survived after two boats sank off the coast of Djibouti after leaving Yemen, UN’s migration agency said on Tuesday.

The agency said in a statement, “Two boat sinking incidents off the coast of Djibouti tragically resulted in the death of 45 migrants, and many are still missing.”

The agency added that “the two boats carrying 310 people on board left Yemen, and so far 32 migrants have survived.”

“It supports government emergency services in search and rescue operations,” it added.
