SANAA, July 18 (YPA) – Minister of foreign affairs Hisham Sharaf met the visiting French ambassador to Yemen here in the capital Sanaa on Wednesday.
At the meeting, the minister briefed the ambassador on the disastrous humanitarian situation in Yemen due to all-out siege and war crimes committed by the Saudi-led coalition against.
“We expect France to play a positive role in backing political settlement’s efforts of the UN envoy to Yemen,” Sharaf said.
The minster called on French government to stop selling weapons to the Saudi-led coalition because of thousands of war crimes committed by the coalition forces against the Yemeni civilians since Mach 2015.
Meanwhile, the French ambassador said he visits Sanaa to make clear of his county’s stance towards Yemen, saying that there was no military solution for the Yemeni conflict, affirming that his country is supporting a political peaceful solution.
