Iran conducts largest naval drills in Gulf

TEHRAN, Sept. 22 (YPA) – Iran’s military and Revolutionary Guards in Saturday conducted the joint naval drills to date in the Persian Gulf, the Iranian state television reported.

Bloomberg News Agency said also that a fleet of 580 ships, including warships and ocean-going destroyers, participated in the exercises and sailed in the Gulf and the Strait of Hormuz.

The military exercises is part of a week-long series of events marking the anniversary of the Iran-Iraq war in the 1980s.
