Meteorology center issues new warnings on weather changes in Yemen

SANAA, Aug. 29 (YPA) – The National Center for Meteorology and Early Warning expected on Thursday rains of varying intensity, accompanied by thunderstorms, hailstones, and blowing winds, in the provinces of Saada, Hajjah, Mahweet, Amran, Sanaa, Dhamar, Raymah, Ibb, Taiz, Dhalea, and Bayda.

The center indicated in its forecast for the next 24 hours that the rain may extend westward to the Tihama Plain and the coasts of the Hajjah, Hodeida, and Taiz provinces, with the possibility of rain of varying intensity, accompanied by thunder, in parts of the provinces of Mahra, Hadramout, Shabwa, Abyan, Aden, Lahj, Jawf, and Marib.

The center renewed its warnings to citizens about being in the depths of valleys, flood paths, crossing land bridges, and of thunderstorms and strong winds, and decreased horizontal visibility due to rainfall and fog formation.

It also warned of rockslides on roads and mountain slopes and the collapse of mud and popular buildings due to continued rainfall.
