OCCUPIED PALESTINE, Aug. 17 (YPA) – Several fires have broken out in northern Israel after heavy rocket attacks launched by Hezbollah targeting the settlements of Safed, Mishmar HaSharon, and in “Ayelet HaShahar, Israeli media reported on Saturday.
According to the Israeli media, these areas were not evacuated in advance.
Israeli media have reported that tens of thousands of residents have entered shelters after sirens were sounded in the mentioned areas due to Hezbollah’s rockets.
The Upper Galilee Regional Council urged residents in non-evacuated settlements, as well as those who remain in evacuated areas, to limit their movements, stay close to shelters and avoid gatherings.
Meanwhile, sirens were activated in Bar’am, located in western Galilee, according to Israeli news sources.
The media also highlighted that settlers in the north are questioning how long the current situation will persist, as daily life is severely disrupted.
Earlier today, Hezbollah targeted the settlement of in “Ayelet HaShahar ” with with Katyusha rockets for the first time, in retaliation for Israeli attacks on southern villages, particularly the town of Kfour.
Hezbollah also struck an Israeli military position at “Al-Marj” with a drone strike, hitting it directly and causing confirmed casualties.
The Israeli military has confirmed that two of its soldiers were injured in the northern region, one of them seriously.
Additionally, Hezbollah’s fighters targeted the Samaqa site in the occupied Lebanese Kfar Shuba hills with rocket weapons, hitting it directly.
They also targeted the Hadab Yaroun site and the Ruwaisat Al-Alam site in the occupied Lebanese Kfar Shuba hills with artillery shells, hitting it directly.
The resistance also targeted the espionage equipment at the Jal Al-Alam site with attack drones, hitting it precisely and leading to its destruction.
