Rainfall expected to continue in several Yemeni governorates

SANAA, Aug. 16 (YPA) – The National Meteorological Center and Early Warning expected the continuation of heavy and variable rainfall, accompanied by thunderstorms, across most governorates over the next 24 hours.

According to the weather bulletin issued by the center on Friday, heavy rain accompanied by thunderstorms and hailstones, to fall in parts of Saada, Hajjah, Mahweet, Amran, Sanaa, Dhamar, Rymah, Ibb, Taiz, Dhalea, the Tihama plain, and the western coastal areas.

“Rains are also expected in parts of Mahra, Hadramout, Shabwa, Bayda, the highlands of Abyan, Lahj, Jawf, and Marib, with scattered rain showers, occasionally accompanied by thunderstorms, in some desert and southern and eastern coastal areas,” the center said.

The Center warned citizens in areas where rain is expected to occur from the flow of torrents into valleys and advised against crossing them, being in their streams, or crossing land bridges, especially when torrents are flowing.

The center also urged relevant authorities to take necessary precautions to protect lives and property and to stay updated with its advisories and reports.
