ADEN, July 17 (YPA) – The president of the Supreme Council of the Revolutionary Movement Fouad Rashid, announced the spark of change against the factions loyal to Saudi-led coalition in Aden and other southern governorates.
In a post on his “X” on Tuesday, Rashid posted a video of angry protests in the Al-Arodh Square in Aden, stating, “This is the spark of change.”
He urged the people of the south to “remember this day, July 16, the day when southerners broke the barrier of fear, and they should not fear anymore.”
Rashid said, “A thousand greetings to those who reminded us of the launch of the southern movement and what it had faced from the Saleh regime in terms of repression, yet it persevered.”
Rashid considered the presence of UAE armored vehicles and armored personnel carriers around Al-Arodh Square and the block access to the square through the Al-Alam and Dar Saad checkpoints as irresponsible behavior.
He noted that the gathering of men and women in Al-Arodh Square despite the unprecedented military presence in Aden confirms that the injustice, abductions, and illegal arrests have reached an unbearable level.
