ADEN, June 25 (YPA) – Dozens of merchants closed on Tuesday their shops in coalition-held Aden province, south of Yemen.
The traders declared in a statement their general strike due to the commercial recession they are experiencing as a result of the collapse of the local currency and their incurring huge losses.
Media sources said that the strike was due to the collapse and instability of the currency, which made most shops sell in Saudi riyals at varying prices.
The price of a dollar in Aden equals 1,800 riyals, which has a negative impact on the lives of citizens and increased their suffering.
