Meteorology warns of heat-wave targeting desert areas

SANAA, May 14 (YPA) – The National Center for Meteorology expected scattered rain on various areas of Yemen, waning of a heat-wave targeting the desert areas.

In its weather forecast, the center said the scattered showers may prevail over the Saada, Amran, Hajjah, Mahweet, Sanaa, Rayma, Ibb, Taiz, as well as the Tihama Plain, Abyan, Shabwa, and Hadramout.

The center indicated that the weather would be hot in the deserts and coastal plains, with maximum temperatures ranging between 37 to 42 degrees Celsius.

It warned citizens of the flow of torrents in the reefs and valleys during and after the rain, calling on motorists to drive carefully on mountain roads as a result of the decrease in horizontal visibility and fog formation.
