WORLD, March 06 (YPA) – Republican presidential candidate Nikki Haley won the presidential primary elections in the state of Vermont, marking her second victory over her competitor for the party’s nomination, former President Donald Trump.
According to NBC News, despite Haley’s narrow victory in Vermont, Trump widens his lead in the national delegate count by winning in other significant Super Tuesday contests. However, his weakness among independents and other non-core Republican participants in this year’s Republican primary elections was evident in Vermont.
Over the weeks, Haley’s campaign has targeted New England states like Vermont as part of her path to progress, as the state has an open primary system that allows any registered voter to participate in the Republican nomination contest.
