HADRAMOUT, Jan. 27 (YPA) – Hadramout tribes announced their escalation against the government loyal to Saudi-led coalition, extending it to all directorates due to the government’s failure to respond to their demands to reduce the prices of oil derivatives.
According to local sources, the tribes of Wadi directorates are heading to establish armed checkpoints in response to the pro-coalition government’s neglect and failure to respond to their demands.
They demanded a reduction in the gasoline price to 3,500 riyals, as it is in Marib city, rather than 25,000 riyals.
The sources confirmed that the upcoming escalation would include expelling corrupt officials from their positions, signaling an angry uprising spreading across various directorates after preventing the movement of fuel and goods since January 17 in the Al-Khasha area west of the province.
The sources also mentioned that the Bani Tamim and Al-Munahil tribes have joined the sit-in, indicating that the living conditions of citizens have worsened amid calls on various tribes to participate in the protest.
