RABAT, Dec. 24 (YPA) – The Moroccan Authority for Supporting the Nation’s Issues announced on Sunday the organization of 100 demonstrations in 56 cities in solidarity with the Gaza Strip against the ongoing Israeli war on the Strip for more than two months.
The authority said in a statement: “In continuation of the solidarity activities with the proud Gaza Strip, denouncing the Zionist crimes against civilians in all of Palestine, and rejecting official Moroccan normalization with the criminal entity, the Moroccan people went out (Friday) in 100 demonstrations in 56 Moroccan cities.”
The statement explained that these demonstrations came “to express their (the Moroccan people’s) support for their brothers in Gaza and to renew the popular rejection of all the ill-fated normalization agreements.”
The demonstrators demanded the closure of the Israeli liaison office in Rabat, according to the statement.
The participants in the demonstrations also called for taking “explicit stances” in support of the Palestinians and denouncing the war against Gaza, which left more than 20,000 people dead, most of them children and women.
They raised posters and slogans condemning “international inaction” in supporting the people of Gaza and denouncing “unjustified international silence and official Arab failure,” demanding the opening of the Rafah land crossing for the entry of urgent humanitarian aid into Gaza.
On an almost daily basis, many Moroccan cities, including the capital, Rabat, are witnessing massive vigils in solidarity with the Palestinian people, to demand an end to the Israeli raids on Gaza, and to lift the siege and bring in aid.
