Chinese President: We have achieved an increase in the volume of trade with Russia ahead of schedule
WORLD, Dec. 20 (YPA) – Chinese President Xi Jinping, said that Russia-China bilateral trade surpassed $200-billion mark earlier than planned.
This came during his meeting with Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin.
The Chinese president announced that the volume of bilateral trade between the two countries, by the end of 2023, reached 218.28 billion dollars.
Xi Jinping added: “The task that (Russian President Vladimir) Putin and I set five years ago to raise the volume of bilateral trade to 200 billion dollars has been accomplished ahead of schedule.”
The Chinese president stressed that this reflects the positive dynamic of cooperation between the two countries.
For his part, the Russian Prime Minister stressed during the meeting that trade and economic cooperation between Russia and China has overcome difficult challenges in 2023.
He noted that the volume of trade exchange between the Russian Federation and China amounted to about 18 trillion rubles, or 1.5 trillion Chinese yuan.
