2 employees of General Authority for Insurance branch in Lahj survive assassination attempt

LAHJ, Dec. 16 (YPA) – Two employees at the branch of the General Authority for Insurance and Pensions in Lahj province were subjected to an assassination attempt, carried out by two gunmen on a motorcycle, following an administrative dispute in the authority.

Informed sources said that the Director of Procurement Department at the authority branch, Nizar Al-Baz, was injured as a result of being shot by two gunmen who were on a motorcycle the day before Thursday, while the advisor to the authority branch, Nasser Al-Faqih, who was next to him, was not injured.

The perpetrators were identified through surveillance cameras in the city of Al-Houta in Toban District, and it turned out that the perpetrators were sent by the financial director of the authority branch, who clashed with the newly appointed purchasing director, according to the sources.

The sources indicated that the son of the financial director and his friend were the ones who carried out the assassination attempt, and they were arrested at the Al-Hota Police Station.
