Sanaa forces target two Israeli ships, expand operations outside Red Sea

SANAA, Dec. 03 (YPA) – The spokesman for the Yemeni Armed Forces in Sanaa, Brigadier General Yahya Sarie, announced on Sunday evening that the naval forces targeted two Israeli ships this morning in Bab al-Mandab, the “Unity Explorer” ship and the “Number Nine” ship.

Brigadier General Sarie confirmed in a statement this evening that the first Israeli ship was hit by a naval missile and the second ship by a naval drone.

The targeting of the two Israeli ships came after they rejected warning messages from the Yemeni naval forces, the spokesman added.

He pointed out that the operation came “in implementation of the directives of Sayyed Abdulmalik Badr al-Din al-Houthi to stand with Palestine.”

Sarie affirmed that the Yemeni armed forces would continue to prevent Israeli ships from navigating the Red Sea and Arabian Sea until the Israeli aggression against the Gaza Strip stops.

This is the first time that Sanaa has announced the expansion of its operations against Israeli ships in the Arabian Sea.

The spokesman renewed the warning to all Israeli ships or those linked to Israelis that they would become a legitimate target if they violated the statements of the Yemeni armed forces.

The attack on the two Israeli ships by Sanaa forces is the first of its kind since the seizure of the Israeli ship “Galaxy Leader” on November 19 by Sanaa naval forces.
