US Secretary of State to meet Mahmoud Abbas in Ramallah on Sunday

WORLD, Nov. 05 (YPA) – US Secretary of State Antony Blinken to meet on Sunday with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas in Ramallah to discuss developments in the Gaza Strip.

A source in the Palestinian presidency confirmed that “the US Secretary of State will arrive in Ramallah, Sunday, to meet with the Palestinian president and discuss developments in the Gaza Strip as part of his tour of the region.”

On the other hand, Blinken stressed in his remarks during a joint press conference with Jordanian Foreign Ministers Ayman Safadi and Egypt Sameh Shoukry, America’s opposition to the ceasefire in Gaza, saying: “Washington’s view is that the ceasefire now will make Hamas able to regroup and attack [Israel] again as happened on October 7, 2023.”

Antony Blinken said, “We support [Israel’s] right to defend itself.”

In turn, Safadi, said that what [Israel] is doing in Gaza is not self-defense.

For his part, The Jordanian foreign minister stressed “Israel’s” war crimes must stop and its immunity from international law must end”.
