WORLD, Nov. 04 (YPA) – Major General Abbas Ibrahim, the former director general of Lebanon’s General Security, announced his participation in prisoner exchange negotiations between Hamas and “Israel”.
Major General Ibrahim revealed his participation with the American negotiator Amos Hochstein to mediate the prisoner swap deal between Hamas and” Israel”, explaining that he had a role with Hochstein regarding the exit of dual nationals and the wounded from the Gaza Strip.
“There is Israeli intransigence in this matter and great international pressure to complete it,” he said in a television interview, hoping that the deal will be completed soon.
Major General Ibrahim affirmed that “the upper hand in this file will be for the Palestinians”.
He added, “I do not believe that Hamas and the ten thousand victims who have fallen since the seventh of October, will accept less than the Zeroing of Israeli prisons, as the blood of children fell for this goal and for the liberation of Palestine.”
Major General Ibrahim announced that he would continue his meetings with Hamas leaders abroad, expressing his hope that these meetings would bring good to the Palestinians
It is worth mentioning that Major General Ibrahim has a long history in several security files in the region during the past 10 years, and Hochstein is the American negotiator who mediated between Lebanon and “Israel” to reach an agreement to demarcate the maritime border linked to the gas wealth in the Mediterranean.
