HADRAMOUT, Oct. 11 (YPA) – Attacks on the UAE military camps have expanded to the eastern provinces of Yemen. During the past hours, the “Marra” camp belonging to the pro-UAE factions in Hadramout province came under attack.
The UAE established Marra Camp early last year in areas controlled by factions affiliated with the Islah Party in the valley and desert of Hadramout.
The sources said that the camp was bombarded with mortar shells in conjunction with the flight of drones over the area.
It is believed that the drones belong to the same party that carried out the attack. The attack caused no significant losses.
Many observers believe that the attack on UAE camps in the southern and eastern governorates of Shabwa and Abyan comes with the support and funding of Saudi Arabia, especially since attacks on UAE camps have increased significantly since the conflict between Riyadh and Abu Dhabi came to light in October last year.
Leaders of the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council accuse Saudi Arabia of being behind the attacks, which were carried out by “al-Qaeda and ISIS groups” against UAE-backed militias in areas under the control of the Saudi-led coalition.
