HADRAMOUT, Oct. 03 (YPA) – Several recruits of UAE-funded factions were wounded in armed confrontations that broke out on Tuesday with citizens in Al-Deis area in the city of Mukalla, the center of Hadramout province.
Local sources in the city affirmed that the confrontations happened after members of the “Hadrami Elite” factions stormed citizens’ homes in search of so-called “wanted persons,” indicating that the elements kidnapped almost 20 people, including women and children.
The sources confirmed those elements fired randomly, causing a state of panic among women and children, which prompted citizens to confront the campaign because of violating the sanctity of their homes.
The kidnapping targeted a number of activists who participated in the protests demanding electricity and improved services in the city and the departure of UAE forces from Al-Rayyan Airport.
