Oman welcomes talks between Sanaa delegation, Saudi officials

MUSCAT, Sept. 21 (YPA) – The Sultanate of Oman welcomed on Thursday the discussions that took place between the Sanaa delegation and Saudi officials in Riyadh.

Oman’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated, in a statement on “X”, that the talks came “as a continuation of the efforts made in the past period.”

The statement praised the “constructive discussions, ideas and proposals that contribute to reaching a comprehensive and lasting solution that meets the aspirations of the Yemeni people.”

Earlier, President of the Political Council in Sanaa, Mahdi Al-Mashat, met with the Omani delegation visiting Sanaa, where Al-Mashat renewed his thanks for the Sultanate of Oman’s continued efforts to bring peace to Yemen, noting that peace was and remains Sanaa’s first choice.

The Sanaa negotiating delegation, accompanied by the Omani mediator, had arrived in the Yemeni capital, Sanaa, in order to consult with the leadership of the Supreme Political Council, after 5 days of negotiations that conducted with the Saudi side in Riyadh.
