WORLD, Sept. 21 (YPA) – At least seven people were killed and 20 others injured in a gas explosion in a nine-story residential building in the Moscow Region’s Balashikha, the country’s Emergencies Ministry said on Wednesday.
The Ministry of Emergencies said in a statement on Thursday that the search and removal of rubble has ended, and the number of victims reached 7 dead and 20 injured, 8 of whom are receiving treatment in hospital.
According to the latest information, the residential building collapsed again due to the damage caused to it by the gas explosion.
During rescue operations concrete beams collapsed on the rescue workers, killing two of them, and injuring four others, the wounded were taken to the hospital. The collapse of the building also killed a woman and her child who were trapped in basements under the rubble, bringing the death toll to seven.
