Al-Mashat announces Sanaa’s readiness to address any concerns that Riyadh has

SANAA, Sept. 20 (YPA) -President of the Supreme Political Council, Mahdi Al-Mashat, has affirmed that Sanaa is ready to address any concerns that Riyadh has, as long as Riyadh is ready to address Yemeni concerns, emphasising that “Sana’a will only be a source of good and of peace for its surroundings, neighbours and the countries of its region.”

In his speech today on the occasion of the ninth anniversary of the September 21 Revolution, President Al-Mashat described the negotiations that the Sanaa delegation held with Saudi Arabia in Riyadh as “positive.”

He added: “We were pleased with what the delegation had conveyed to us from the Saudi leadership as the leader of the coalition with which we have been engaged in a bloody war with since 2015.”

“What our delegation conveyed to us from the Saudi leadership in theory were undoubtedly positive messages and assurances. We welcome these messages in the condition that they must be translated into practice.”

President Al-Mashat called on all local opponents to return to the right path and proceed together with Sana’a in peace and respect for their homeland and its people, on the basis of the sanctity of sovereignty and independence, and to immediately leave behind any external alignments against their countrymen.

He welcomed the openness of the international community to Sanaa, stressing the importance of ending the hostile alignments that hinder the peace process in Yemen.

President Mahdi Al-Mashat furthermore expressed his aspiration for fundamental amendments in international positions that have greatly prolonged the aggression war against the Yemeni people.
