Protest calls for investigation into attack on Hadramout recruits

HADRMOUT, Sept. 14 (YPA) – The families of recruits of “Presidential Protection Battalion” loyal to the Saudi-led coalition in Hadramout governorate organized a protest calling for an urgent investigation into the brutal attack on conscripts by Emirati officers in al-Rabwah camp at the end of last August.

In a statement issued by the vigil on Tuesday in the city of Shihr, in the presence of a number of social figures, the people called for forming an impartial investigation committee to uncover the perpetrators of the incident of beating and torture with batons and rifle butts after demanding the payment of their salaries, which exceeded the dues of one year and 7 months.

The statement pointed out that the representatives of the recruits were insulted by handcuffing, shaving their heads, eyebrows and “mustache”, and taking them blindfolded on board military vehicles.

A number of social figures and the families of the recruits condemned the brutal attack on their recruited sons, considering it a crime that will not pass with punishment, as it contradicts with values, morals, humanitarian charters and military norms.
