Workers of oil “Thermal” field carry out mass strike in Shabwa

SHABWA, Sept. 13 (YPA) – Workers and employees of “Thermal” field in oil sector 4 in Shabwa province continue to protest for the third day in a row because of the non-payment of their salaries.

The Union Committee at the “Thermal” field in Ayath area of Jerdan directorate announced in a statement the resumption of the strike at all field sites due to the procrastination of the management of the oil investment company “Waycom” disbursement of their dues for the months of July and August last according to the agreement reached on September 10.

The trade union committee confirmed that the workers and employees in the sector will continue the mass strike until their dues and all their rights are paid without deduction, indicating that the company’s management ignores the rights of workers in the field.
