HADRAMOUT, Sept. 11 (YPA) – A number of people from the districts of Hadramout province, eastern Yemen, demanded the disclosure of the fate of 700 million Yemeni riyals amid a wide local escalation.
Hadramout activists said on “X” platform, that the Ministry of Finance in the government loyal to the Saudi-led coalition disbursed 700 million Yemeni riyals to the local authority in the governorate last March as compensation for the damage of torrential rains in the areas of “Seiyun, Al-Qatn, Houra and Wadi Al-Ain.”
A document issued by the ministry showed that it had deducted 700 million riyals from its account to cover the costs of repairing damage caused by the torrential rains.
Activists pointed out that local authorities have not implemented any repairs to citizens’ homes, agricultural land and roads.
It is worth noting that the local authorities’ delaying in paying compensation and repairing the damage, pushed dozens of residents of Houra area to block the road and prevented oil tank trucks from heading to Seiyun.
