ADEN, Sept. 11 (YPA) – Schools in the city of Aden, which is under the control of the Saudi-led coalition, have been witnessing a general strike for the second week in a row amid refusal to transfer teachers’ dues through exchange companies and private banks.
The schools closed their doors to students in response to the call of Teachers’ Association affiliated with the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC)’s militia at the end of August in a protest against the decision of the pro-coalition finance minister to transfer their dues through banks and private companies.
This comes in conjunction with the strike called by the judiciary authorities, University of Aden, health and medical professions and other unions in various institutions due to the deterioration of the situation and lack of adopting operational expenses.
