Armed gang storms Judicial Institute, loots millions in Aden
ADEN, Sept. 11 (YPA) – An armed gang has robbed the salaries of the Higher Judicial Institute staff in Aden city in southern Yemen, which has been controlled by the Saudi-led coalition since mid-2015.
According to informed sources, an armed gang suspected to be affiliated with the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC) robbed 35 million riyals from the institute’s employees in Khor Maksar yesterday, Sunday, and escaped.
The sources verified that the gunmen in masks overpowered the institute’s guards, took the key to the main entrance, walked up to the finance office, and stole the money.
The sources indicated that surveillance cameras recorded the robbery by the gang, which was not pursued by the STC factions, suggesting coordination and cooperation among them.
